September hits differently, doesn’t it?

One minute we’re in August mode (fun, loose routines), and the next it’s:
school uniforms, rainy mornings, after-school clubs, secondary school open days (this is the year for for my 10 yro!), and suddenly your diary looks like someone else’s to-do list I didn’t sign up for 😉

And this is something I see with clients every September: routines feel heavy at first. Energy dips, the brain fog rolls in, and that “I’ll get back into it soon” cycle starts.

But, is where nutrition and habits really show their power.
Not in the “perfect diet / perfect plan” way… but in the foundations that carry you through the messy season change.

✔️ Protein at meals to stabilise energy (and no 4pm crash)
🍏 Fibre and colour on the plate to help digestion + bring focus and feel full for longer
🏃 Small, non-negotiable habits that are “good for you” even when you don’t feel like it (even if it’s just a 10-min walk or throwing spinach into your eggs)

That’s what actually brings momentum back. Not waiting until “things calm down”, because they rarely do.

Ps. is it just me or did autumn literally drop overnight this year? 🍂

How are you handling the season + routine shift right now?

End of summer fatigue.. Between the heat, school holidays and kid chaos, you’re may be dehydrated and likely drained! Sometimes it’s electrolytes that need topping up, not another coffee.

Last weekend in Malta reminded me that nourishment isn’t just about getting your macros right.

Sometimes it’s also eating local foods, sea salt on your skin, laughing so hard that your cheeks hurt, chatting with your people over breakfast. Sometimes it’s all crammed into one messy perfect blur.

If you’re smashing it at work but running on fumes everywhere else…you don’t have to overhaul your life. It maybe noticing where you’re running on empty and top it up before it costs you.

Who knows maybe the result will be walking away nourished & fuller (in energy, joy, connection) than when you started?

☀️ I’m curious when was the last time you felt properly topped up, not just caffeinated? And what would it take to get more of that this week? ⤵️

You’re running the show.
Keeping humans alive.
Leading meetings. Running a business.
Managing meltdowns (yours, theirs, or both).

You know what to do when it comes to your health.
You just don’t do it.

It’s not laziness. Or because you don’t know things (yes, you do).

From what I’m seeing with my clients, you’re likely overcommitted, running on caffeine and toast and your brain files “healthy habits” under “tasks for future me.”

If this sounds familiar, it’s ok.

I coach driven humans (yes, even the ones currently bribing kids with iPads and snacks over school holidays! 👋 ) to build health and nutrition systems that hold, even when life’s a sh*tshow.

☎️ If you’re nodding, wincing or hiding behind that third oat latte… 💬 pls DM me. Let’s change things up without the pressure, guilt or 5am workouts (unless you love them) x

🧠 You’re sharp enough to lead a team, juggle deadlines, manage school holidays, do parenting to energetic humans, run a business…

But somehow, you’re still skipping breakfast or calling a croissant “fuel.”

(btw, not here to bash croissants, but they don’t stack up the same when it comes to nutrients and focus power 🤨)

In this reel, I walk through a real-life high-volume breakfast:
lower in calories, yet still high in protein + fibre + micronutrients.
Built to keep you full, focused and (if that’s your goal) losing fat without eating like a sad bird.

📌 Caveat: this one’s for those in a fat loss phase or/and counting macros. If that’s not your goal, your play might need to look different.

If you’re tired of eating ‘less’ and still feeling hungry or foggy
💬 DM me or book a call to sort your meals for real.
More food, better energy, fewer cravings. Yes, it’s doable!

I know this season can feel like a lot.

The summer dance is real: school’s out, work doesn’t stop, your parents are visiting, the fridge is empty again (because everyone’s home and CONSTANT snacks) and somehow you’re still trying to stay on top of your health?

And despite summer sunshine, you’re tired, I bet.
And maybe you’re not doing all the things you’d like to, like your usual workouts, meal prep, your morning routine, but you know what? That doesn’t mean you’re ‘off track’

This might be a time to scale things down, not up. To shift, not scrap it all.

With my clients, we often talk about setting a baseline aka the minimums. The habits that keep you steady when life gets full.

Can you do a 15 min walk first thing in the AM?
Or commit to getting your fibre through 5-6 colourful fruit & veg daily?

Yours might be a high-protein breakfast, quick run 2x week or simply drinking some water before another ☕️ or 2 min mindful breathing in the shower.

This summer doesn’t need to be about doing more.
It can be more about doing what matters.

🗓️ And if you’re thinking health forward and ahead, maybe September feels like your moment to reset properly, I’ll be opening a few new nutrition support + coaching 1:1 spots then.

👋 DM me to hear more + apply to work with me.

You lead at work or your business, but feel like you’re falling apart at home?

If every Monday feels like your latest “fresh start,” but by Thursday you’re…
-> Running on caffeine and scraps from your kid’s plate
-> Nodding off in meetings
-> Too bloated to enjoy dinner
-> Snapping at any small thing
-> Too drained for anything fun (or anyone at home)

It’s not you or ageing, or ‘midlife metabolism’.
But if your output’s high (demanding life), but your input (food/nutrition) not so much..that might be a problem.

I see these 2 scenarios a lot:

🥝 One client is overthinking every bite, reading labels, following “clean eating” rules, second-guessing every choice
☕️ The other is so done, they just grab another coffee or whatever and feel worse for it

It’s possible to make food actually work for you over 40 and it does not need to invoke another diet or another ‘Monday start’.
As a nutritionist and coach, I believe that adequate nutrition really makes life easier, from the first morning bite until dinner, so you can nail it and lead at work and still have energy left for yourself, your people, and your life.

🔗 If you feel like you might be playing your usual Monday script, book a discovery call with me and start making eating well feel more possible for you, even if you have lots on your plate (pun intended 😉)

Probiotics get all the hype… but prebiotics? 🤨 That’s what feeds your gut bacteria.

Think of it like this:
🦠 Probiotics = the live bacteria (you’ll find these in supplements + some live strains in things like yoghurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi)
🌱 Prebiotics = the fibre the bacteria feed on (like garlic, onions, leeks, oats, bananas)

Your gut needs both to thrive. especially if you’re dealing with bloating, sluggish digestion, lack of energy or trying to support your immune system and mood while working or running a business, parenting or.. living in today’s world!

It’s not about buying expensive supplements.
It’s about knowing what to look for and where to get it, starting with food.

In this video I break it down in 2 minutes.

📌 Save this for the next time you’re staring at the yoghurt or probiotic tablets aisle!

It’s not that you didn’t eat.

You did. There was that thing you grabbed while skimming emails or packing lunches, quick, convenient, maybe even labelled “healthy.”
It gave you 20 minutes of energy. And then... nothing.

By 11am, you might be yawning through Zoom calls, distracted, reaching for another coffee... and eyeing the office kitchen 🍪
You’re already running on low, and the day’s barely started. I know it’s frustrating, especially when you’re trying to do everything “well.”

Show up for your job or your business.
Be present.
Feel productive.
And still have some energy left for when ‘life happens’.

That mid-morning crash?
Sometimes, it starts with how you fuel your morning, and not JUST willpower or bad sleep as we often are told 🤨

A steadier start is about building a plate that gives the brain and body what they need to function, not just coast.

→ Think protein, fibre, healthy fats 🍳 🥣 🍏

Something that supports you through meetings, problem-solving, decision-making AND helps you still have energy in you when work is done
to handle the school run, dinner, homework or just be a human not biting anyone 🤨

📝 🍊 If your mornings are where the struggle starts, I’ve put together a FREE Crash-Proof Breakfast Guide with 5 simple, no-fuss ideas that support better focus, fewer cravings and more steady energy.

I’d love to share it with you, DM me ‚Guide’ and I’ll send it over!

Shocking news: when breakfast includes actual food, not just caffeine and vibes, your energy stops disappearing on you.

Carbs with fibre, protein, fat. The trio that keeps you from raiding the snack drawer, feeling groggy on Zoom calls or Googling “is two coffees a meal?”

Forget food rules from 1997. Your mornings (and days) deserve better 🥣 🍳 🍊

If you’re thriving at work but dragging through your day… this might be for you.

Most of my clients are brilliant at what they do: running teams, running businesses, showing up for their kids and everyone else.

They’re organised, capable, committed.
But when it comes to their own health?

It’s usually been pushed to the background for a while. Not because they don’t care, but because they’re busy leading EVERYTHING else.

Their life’s full. Priorities pile up. And even when they try to “eat well,” they still feel off.
Tired. Bloated. A bit stuck in a body that isn’t responding like it used to.

You’re not doing it ‚all wrong’. You’re just doing what used to work… for a life that looked very different.

The more your life demands of you, the more your health deserves a strategy that actually fits it.
You are your own biggest asset, and you don’t need to keep putting yourself on pause to show up for everything else.

📥 Not sure what’s off, but you know you’re not feeling how you want to feel?
As a nutritionist and accredited ICF coach, that’s what I help clients unpack and rebuild over 8-16 weeks. DM me “Thrive” and let’s book you in.

Ps. We’ve made some fresh spring rolls with the kids last weekend 😋 Some tasty fun that definitely requires mental energy + showing up

Fibre isn’t just about easier poops 💩 (although that’s a welcome side effect!)

It’s one of the most underrated tools for gut health, hormone metabolism, blood sugar balance, appetite and even keeping energy levels stable throughout the day. It a bit of planning/ consideration, l often see that most of my clients over 40 way under-eat it.

If you are in midlife and want to improve your digestion, manage cravings or support your long-term health, bumping up fibre is one of the simplest (and most powerful) places to start.

🥦 Here are a few easy ways to sneak in extra 2-3g+ of fibre to support your midlife health:

1 tosp chia seeds (5g)
0.5 cup cooked lentils (4g)
1 small pear (3g)
0.5 small avocado (5g)
1 cup raspberries (8g)
2 tbsp ground flaxseed (3.8g)
1 slice whole grain rye bread (2.8g)
1 cup broccoli (5g)
3 cups air popped popcorn (3.6g)
2 squares of 85% dark chocolate (3g)

Small swaps add up. You don’t need a perfect plate, just some EXTRA fibre on your plate, most days.

📌 SAVE this for later for a quick fibre top up

Everyone wants the big win. But real change often starts with the small ones.

Like…

→ Waking up with more energy
→ Not feeling bloated after lunch
→ Eating a proper breakfast instead of just coffee
→ Remembering to take your supplements
→ Making it through the afternoon without reaching for sugar or caffeine
→ Saying “no” to something because you listened to your body

None of these are headline-grabbers.

But they’re signs that something is shifting, and those shifts are what make the big wins possible.

So if you’re not seeing a “before-and-after”… look a tiny bit closer.
The good stuff might already be happening 🙌

💬 I’d love to hear what’s a small win you’ve had lately that deserves more credit? 👇

Health doesn’t happen in a vacuum. And neither do changing eating habits.

When most of my clients come to me, they think they should have it ‘all together’ by now. But even the best intentions bump up against real life: especially when that life includes other PEOPLE. And it often does because we’re social species!

My clients are trying to eat better or feel better, but they also have to consider:

→ A partner who does most of the cooking, so flexibility is limited unless there’s mutual agreement / discussion

→ Two toddlers and a baby, which makes sitting down for a meal feel like a luxury (or dead impossible)

→ Older teens who drift in and out of the kitchen, one with a nut allergy, another suddenly going vegetarian

→ A partner who skips breakfast but stocks the pantry with crackers and Haribos

→ …or a job that requires eating lunch in 7 minutes flat between back-to-back calls

Even in my own home, breakfast can look like throwing a smoothie together while brushing someone’s hair, finding a lost PE kit 5 mins before leaving the house and trying not to spill tea down my top! 🤦🏼‍♀️

This is the reality, and it’s completely valid.

That’s why cookie-cutter advice or ‘just build habits’ don’t often work. And it’s why my approach always includes your life and environment, not just your food.

Because real change happens in context.
Not in a silent or clean kitchen, or in a crop top, with a book, candles with endless free time on a Monday morning (I mean, who are these people?! 🤔)

So if you’re trying to eat better or feel more in control of your health, but your lifestyle or family setup feels like a barrier (even when you love them) , let’s chat. There’s always a way forward, and it doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.

📩 Book a free call today and let’s figure out what that could look like for you.

Picking up where we left 👇 Here’s part 2 of my fibre mini series (catch up on part 1 by scrolling back 4 posts)

Some things | highlight are: soluble vs insoluble fibre, where to find it in fruit and veggies, and whether supplements are necessary. Plus, what’s the perfect amount to aim for?

Fibre isn’t just about, easier poops (although, yes please 🙋🏼‍♀️) It’s also linked to heart health, blood sugar regulation, gut health and even lower all-cause mortality.

📊 Most UK and US adults fall short of the recommended fibre intake. Less than 10% in the UK and just 5% in the US hit the target*

Tune in to this quick 2-min video to learn what to look for and why fibre deserves a bigger spot on your plate, especially if you’re hitting midlife!

🗣 “I don’t get it.. I used to eat anything. Now I bloat almost every day.”

If that sounds familiar.. (just you and every other client of mine in their 40s or 50s). Say no more!

One day, food is just food. But the next day, bloating, reflux or cramping or completely unpredictable bowel movements 💩 And it can be frustrating as hell because it’s not always clear what triggered it.

Here’s what could be going on under the surface (swipe for details):
– Hormonal shifts can slow digestion and change how your gut functions
– Long-term stress rewires your gut-brain axis and can stir up IBS-like symptoms
– Stomach acid and absorption take a hit — so food breaks down less efficiently

The gut doesn’t suddenly “break” at 40 (neither is metabolism, btw). But we often notice that the old strategies stop working.

In my work, we identify those root causes so you’re not left guessing. With in depth health history, looking at symptoms and/or lab testing. Once you understand what’s behind your symptoms and apply some changes, things get easier.

SWIPE through to explore why this is happening and what you can actually do about it.
What have you been noticing about your gut lately? 👇

This was my lunch.

To be fair, this is how quite a few of my lunches look.

Functional nourishing foods throw in together Leftover sweet potato lasagna, with high-protein “white sauce,” and some cruciferous veg like cabbage + broccoli (great for my luteal phase and liver support) + herbs for micronutrients and antioxidants.

Some days it’s something more structured. Prettier on the plate. Some days it’s whatever comes together, with purpose + in line with my health goals.

Same with my client sessions.

Because as a nutritionist and accredited coach, my job isn’t just to hand over info. It’s to guide and get curious 👀

To ask better questions, and help them notice what their body’s been trying to tell them… and actually do something about it.

Sometimes we dive into recipes and rough meal plans.
Other times it’s 15 minutes redesigning a bedtime routine.
Sometimes we spend an hour creating a better system for food prep.
Or it’s just talking through something that happened at work, because that affected digestion for three days after.
Or we go symptom by symptom, day by day, figuring out what’s really going on.

No session looks the same, because no person is the same.

Just like my meals, sessions don’t need to be pretty or perfect to work.
They just need to be built around what YOU actually need.

🥦 That’s what we do in my 8-session Thrive Well programme.

If you’re ready for some tailored health support (without overhauling your life), I’ve got 2 spots opening for July. If it feels like a fit, let’s chat .

The gut bacteria aren’t just there for the ride and to help with regular 💩(although that super helpful and nice, obviously!)

The food you eat actually feeds them, and in return, they do a ton of helpful things behind the scenes to support your digestion, energy, mood and more.

This is where nutrition goes way deeper than just calories or cutting carbs. Think about it as fuelling the system that fuels YOU.

“I know what to do… I’m just not doing it”

If secretly this is you, keep reading 🙂

I hear this often from people when they reach out. They’re smart, capable, and lovely humans who’ve done the reading, followed the plans, listened to podcasts, maybe even tried a thing for a week.. and still feel stuck.

Because knowing isn’t always the problem.

Life gets busy. Habits go messy. We forget things, we say ‚nah’, we’re exhausted.
And real change needs more than just information: it needs context, support, accountability, understanding, plan B, motivation, and sometimes a bit of unlearning.

I work with people in their 40s and beyond who already know the basics. Eat more vegetables, get better sleep, move more. Do you really need the seconds? 🍽️

But knowing that isn’t the same as being able to do it consistently in real life, with all the stress, 4am wake ups, energy dips, teenager’s exams, bloating, brain fog or decision fatigue that comes with midlife.

This is where 1:1 coaching makes a difference.

It’s not about more rules. Or more restriction.
It’s often a space to explore why things aren’t sticking, what’s getting in the way or what truly matters to you. All in a way that works with the body, brain, and lifestyle at this stage of life.

I like to see coaching as space for clarity, systems and support. A space where everything is welcome and where habits that stick are built.

🔁 If this hits home, save it as a reminder for later.

I’d love for you to make chance meaningful and doable, so reach out if you’re done second-guessing and ready to figure out what works for YOU.

Let’s talk about that food group people love to blame 🤨

About bread.
Or carbs in general.
Or the idea that they’re what’s standing between someone and their “goal weight.”

Something I’ve heard many times:
“It’s the carbs. As soon as I cut them, I’m sure I’ll lose weight and everything will change.”

Sure, that might happen short-term.
…and then comes the fatigue, cravings, irritation and feeling like a human breadstick 🥖 magnet.

Carbs alone aren’t the problem.
Weight gain happens when there’s a consistent energy surplus ⬆️ And that can come from any food. Fat, protein, coconut sugar, oat milk, olives, doesn’t matter.

Yes, in your 40s and beyond, there’s more going on. Hormonal changes. Sleep disruption. Gut issues. Stress. Lower muscle mass. Even genetic differences (some bodies are just better at storing energy, helpful 100,000 years ago, less so now 🤨)

So sure, the scale might shift, but like it or not, it’s not just the bread, and cutting them out completely it’s not the magic solution.

And, YES, quality bread is for great fibre and other nutrients. Carbs are fuel. They support brain function, the nervous system, and exercise recovery. And no, not all carbs are equal — oats and lentils are doing a different job than a 🥐 But food isn’t just numbers. It’s function, context and habits over time.

Sometimes it’s about zooming out and looking at the full picture.

👋 If this shifted something for you — save it, share it or just sit with it.

And if it made you rethink how your body handles food these days… that’s always worth exploring too.

Grateful to my early-morning self for thinking ahead and prepping this lunch 🙌 Avoided mad snacking, slipped hanger stage.

I reckon she deserves a rise 😉

This took maybe 10 minutes, with to a bit of prep yesterday (roasting chicken) and it ticks the boxes for energy, gut health and nutrients that actually do something.

Here’s what’s on the plate:

🥣 Quinoa – soaked for a bit once I got up and at the gym; cooked with punch of salt while making the kids’ lunch boxes. A fab source of complex carbs, fibre, some protein, plus B vitamins, minerals like magnesium and copper.

🍗 Chicken – leftover, ready to go. Protein, choline, and micronutrients like zinc and selenium - all supporting many metabolic processes, muscle maintenance, immunity, brain health and more

🥬 Greens & mixed veg – quick to throw in, always worth the colour; greens like spinach or rocket are powerhouse, seriously just EAT them daily

🌈 Red cabbage – a fridge staple in my house. Love. Brings crunch, fibre, vitamin C and polyphenols (those plant compounds that have many roles in the body, eg. help reduce inflammation, support gut and brain health, or counter oxidative stress)

🥄 Sauerkraut – fermented foods = prebiotics = a happier gut microbiome = a happier human

🌿 Fresh coriander – I know it’s divisive, but I LOVE it. Adds a pop of flavour, some micro minerals and antioxidant support

🥣 2-minute dressing – tahini, mustard, a splash of sweet chilli. Done. And yum

Balanced meals like this are how I support my energy, gut health, and long-term health goals, without overcomplicating things. I know planning isn’t always easy or doable, but just thinking about what you throw into your lunch plate can be a huge difference

What are you eating today to support your health goals?

(Ps. I work with clients to make meals like this doable and personal, without the stress. I’d love that for you too. Pls DM me if this resonates 📧)
