Had an amazing summer (maybe with one too many surprises). So grateful for my incredible circle. Legit the best people. That being said, I’m so ready to knock out the last 4 months of the year. August is coming to an end, and we’re entering arguably the most momentous part of the year. You often hear that on the other side of this journey is financial freedom. But what does that actually mean to you? For myself recently, it has meant having a full schedule between all the things I love doing. I love what I do for Falcon but also equally I love learning things in different parts of life. I’ve been going to pickleball more frequently, picked up Equestrian (shoutout to Vicky) and work from co-working spaces 1-2 times a week. Subtle changes that always make me look forward to something every single day. But don’t get me wrong, for the first half of this journey I sacrificed all of that. I made my life around trading. I didn’t really allow many distractions into that. That doesn’t mean I was happy the whole time, quite the opposite. For a lot of it, I just had to crack on until I got to a point where I can reintroduce other magical parts of my life back into it. From not being able to attend the last Falcon Conference in 2019 to being one of the people hosting this event alongside a fantastic team. Journeys like this are so empowering because you meet so many incredible people along the way. Once upon a time our infrastructure was a fraction of what it is today and I’m sure when I look back at this in a few years this was the moment that started something else. It’s events like these that remind us what we’re building and where we are going. Having an incredible team and surrounded by students that flew in from all corners of the globe is not short of inspiring. Signing off an incredible year with some very special memories. There would be hundreds more pictures to pick from but I thought these showed a good portion of the year. Year end is always so special as I’ll look back at the year, see what I did right/wrong and see what I can double down on for the year ahead. When you lock in and build yourself around growth, it’s genuinely impossible to come to the end of year and not be in a better place. If I look back at all the last NYs, I’ve been a better person each and every time. That doesn’t mean there isn’t stuff to work on. But it means I could have improved in my trading ability, business, physique, finances, personal life, emotional maturity and so on. Equally it’s important to make sure to live a full life. This year I started a couple new skills, travelled to a lot of countries, met some really cool people and just overall went after as many experiences/memories as possible. But even in our ‘work life’, being part of Falcon and seeing this project grow to a worldwide family has been nothing short of surreal. It was such a humbling experience in the end of year mastermind to see how much growth we have all made and where everyone is headed towards next year. I don’t even think I have the words for it, but would rather show it next year as it happens. I have a feeling 2025 is going to be an entirely new all time high across the board and I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited as I am for this New Year. Two trades for myself last week BE on EJ at the start of the week and BE on EURUSD. One of the main tweaks I’ve observed in my trading this year is that I was missing moves that I should be taking before the one that actually commits. Usually there’s enough of a range and good stop protection to capitalize on them. Even if they do end in BE, it helps keep you sharp as you are always ready for the next trade. Attached are the screenshots of EU entry (inverted) and DXY at the same time of entry. I accepted that it was trading on that low as it was quite insignificant in comparison to the rest of the structure. Was a quick BE. Often you can use the DXY and EURUSD for correlation. More times than not, the DXY will show the direction for the dollar that week. However, every now and then you can use the reverse. We can see on the HTF of DXY that there is more sell pressure and the HTF structure to commit too. However, last week we moved out very correctively from the VA and with the bullish last leg can indicate we will stay here for a bit longer. If you look at EURUSD you can see that it is mainly a sell structure, showing more downside pressure. Back in Dubai for our end of year mastermind. One missed trade for me so far on AUDCAD. Not gonna lie, I’ve appreciated my routine more and more everytime I’ve travelled. Don’t get me wrong, travelling and all these experiences are amazing. But I’ve spent so much time improving my routine to target growth and efficiency which is really hard to do in a different country. You’ll never really trade your best when you’re away from what sets you up for peak performance. And that’s okay, but I do think sometimes IG over glamorizes trading and travelling. EURUSD is one of my favourite for next week because it requires you to be neutral. Notice how much it has moved to the downside. It’s normal as traders for us to say ‘it needs a pullback now’. That might be true from an instinct point of view but you shouldn’t neglect the short just for the sake of it. There’s a high likelihood the short will complete from the momentum of weekly (and past few weeks) but also you need to be ready to pivot with the LTF as the potential long (even if a pullback) shapes up. Trades like these require you to really dissect your PA but to remain level headed. One of my favourites on watch this week is NJ. When you have a structure that has cleared the HTF and is in the impulsive wave you want to make sure to monitor the leg as it develops and not be too loose with it. There’s a time to be aggressive and a time to be patient. Obviously don’t fomo in any silly position on market open, but I’ve attached a couple of charts to show what I’m looking for until we get further price action. Will update more on stories during the week. In general the Yens are such great pairs to trade and respond really well to market structure. 🎉 What a beautiful trade on EC! Ended up closing it for c9%. I wanted to hold it longer, however, the more I thought about it, the less confident I felt holding a trade into the US election given how dangerous that could be. If it goes further, it is what it is. No upside is worth losing your capital over. During the last election, spreads massively widened and liquidity was low. Given the way the campaigns are going, I felt better knowing I don’t need to chance something happening over the weekend. Closing October at ~11%. ✅ Closed EC on some accounts for +5% and opted for a long term hold on other accounts. The beauty of a good price point is that you’re able to survive deeper pullbacks. In this case, I knew my invalidation zones and they held. I’ll be able to manage this more aggressively and hold out for the longer term structure. 💭 Took a BE on EC this week. I didn’t expect the trade to survive because of bigger swaps on Wednesday and CPI the following morning. But EC still played out to target in the end, which would have been about 6R. You just have to remember that part of trading is accepting the fact that you won’t be able to survive all trades, and that you need to prioritize risk management first. If you prioritize risk management, you keep yourself in the game. As long as you play, there will always be other trades.
