plot twist… I’m running another race 🏃🏻‍♀️🤭🏅⭐️

BUT it’s the day after my half marathon!!! 

newbalancerunning have kindly given me a place to run at the Vitality London 10k in a few weeks and I definitely didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity! 

all focus is still on my half marathon and then I’m going to run the 10k as fun ‘take in the atmosphere’ kind of race! 

now a little disclaimer… doing a double race weekend or running a half and 10k back to back is NOT normal! I know it’s going to be a real challenge for me and I won’t be hitting PBs at both (or either!) but hopefully it’s an amazing weekend ⭐️⭐️

19km before 7:30am!! this is how 👇🏼🌅🏃🏻‍♀️

👟 I got my clothes, shoes, vest and gels out the night before - I had everything laid out in order so I wasn’t rummaging through my drawers trying to find things!

😴 I got to bed early - in bed by 9:30, asleep by 10pm!

⏰ my alarm went off at 4:30am - got straight out (no excuses!!) and got changed!

🥯 I had breakfast at 4:45am - a bagel, banana and water 45 mins before the run so it had time to digest!

🔥 I warmed up at 5:15am - I did a few dynamic stretches and put on vest and shoes! 

🏃🏻‍♀️ GO TIME at 5:30am!!!!

I definitely don’t run at this time every week, but when you have a busy week getting your run done early 🌅 helps sooo much!

my biggest mistake when starting running was expecting every run to feel amazing (like social media shows 🥺) BUT it didn’t!!! 

the quicker I realised this, the easier it was to be consistent and also not give up!!! because if you’re run felt awful this time, chances are the next one would be better 😆

ahhhh my half marathon in Battersea Park is coming round so quickly! only 5 weeks of training left 🤯 I’ve been a little out of routine with my training due to a holiday and then being ill 🤒 but I feel like I’m finally getting back on it! 

practising running at faster paces in long runs is helping me a lot and giving me more confidence in my ability to hit my target time on race day!! my coros_uk pace pro ⌚️ is making all the difference too with helping me run at consistent paces!!
