Get £1,000 per year from the Government if you’re 18-39 years old in the UK 📣

Here’s the (extra) information you need to be aware of:

You can withdraw money from your ISA if you’re:

➡️ Buying your first home

➡️ Aged 60 or over

⛔️ You’ll pay a withdrawal charge of 25% if you withdraw cash or assets for any other reason (also known as making an unauthorised withdrawal)

You can use your savings to help you buy your first home if all the following apply:

➡️ The property costs £450,000 or less

➡️ You buy the property at least 12 months after you make your first payment into the Lifetime ISA

➡️ You use a conveyancer or solicitor to act for you in the purchase - the ISA provider will pay the funds directly to them

➡️ You’re buying with a mortgage

5 money rules to LIVE BY…👇

1. The 50% Rule ➡️ I keep expenses below 50% of my income at all times.

2. The 24-hour Rule ➡️ If I want to buy something, I’ll force myself to wait 24 hours to avoid impulse spending.

3. The Sustainability Rule ➡️ All good budgets must include an amount that is allocated for “enjoyment”. Period.

4. Invest Don’t Save Rule ➡️ Once I saved up 6-12 months of living expenses, I started investing all additional savings to avoid dreaded inflation!

5. The Payday Rule ➡️ As soon as payday arrives, I pay MYSELF first before anyone else!

3 ways to pay LESS TAX if you earn > £50,000 per year…

At this tax rate - for every additional £1 you earn in income, you pay 42p in tax and this rises to 51p in tax if you have a student loan 🤯

So here’s 3 ways to reduce the amount of tax you pay:

1. Contribute to your Pension.

All of your pension contributions will reduce your taxable income before income tax and NI are deducted. And all of the money will grow tax-free until you retire.

2. Contribute to your ISA.

Whilst you can’t do this directly through gross earnings, all the money you invest through an ISA will grow free of capital gains tax.

3. Salary sacrifice.

You can sacrifice a portion of your salary in exchange for non-cash benefits from your employer. These would include gym memberships, company cars, bicycles, private healthcare and more. By making the sacrifice on your gross earnings, you reduce the amount of tax you’ll pay on your payslip each month.

Which of these strategies makes the most sense to you?

3 Accounts you NEED by 18…👇

1. A stocks and shares ISA

This is the holy grail of accounts when it comes to building long term wealth. If you don’t know what compound interest is, you will soon!

2. A High Yield Savings Account

This is the prerequisite account where you need to house your emergency fund of 3-6 months of living expenses before you think about building any wealth.

3. Credit Card

They’re actually not scary. A credit card is a gateway to loans, and loans will be the tool you use to get on the property ladder one day. Don’t ignore it.

Do you think there is a lack of salary transparency in the UK? 🤨

I made a video talking about my salary progression working at the big four in London.

The most common question I got was:

“Is the salary monthly or yearly?”

For context, my starting salary was £28,000. But so many people thought this was a monthly figure - not an annual one! 🤯

Budgeting on a £2,000 per month salary 👇

Using the 70/20/10 technique…

70% of income ➡️ Essential needs
(Housing, food & travel)

20% of income ➡️ Spending
(On yourself!)

10% of income ➡️ Saving
(HYS or ISA)

The main point I hope you takeaway is that budgeting shouldn’t come at the expense of you being able to spend money on yourself and things you enjoy!

Also - for some people, bills will cost more than this I.e with children but hopefully it’s a useful demonstration.

This is how I INVEST my money in the stock market…📈

(As someone who’s portfolio has grown by £2,900 in the last 30 days)

Firstly: this is NOT financial advice but education only. Your capital is at risk with investing.

➡️ 50% of my portfolio goes into the S&P500 index

➡️ 50% portfolio goes into the All-world Index

Both of these investments are index funds made up of hundreds, even thousands of different stocks of companies. This is the way I personally like to invest because it offers more diversification than investing in individual stocks.

Pensions are NOT Tax-Free…👇

I think it’s a common misconception that putting money in your pension eliminates your TAX. It doesn’t.

There are some huge BENEFITS to putting money into your pension:

➡️ Employer contributions

➡️ Pensions get invested in the stock market

However…they only reduce your tax bill NOW…not forever.

Consider your pension as a way of deferring tax instead of reducing it. The reality is you can only withdraw up to 25% tax free, the rest is taxed at the standard income tax bands.

3 accounts you NEED in your 20s 👇

If you haven’t set them up already…please go and do it after this video!!

1. HYS (High Yield Savings Account)

This is a savings account with a higher interest rate than a typical current account. It’s a very good place to store your emergency fund or extra surplus cash.

2. ISA (Individual Savings Account)

This is probably my favourite account on the list. It’s an account you can put up to £20,000 into, and all the gains, interest and dividends you earn within the account are completely tax free.

3. Pension

It might sound boring but you are going to thank me when you retire. Your pension pot will be the largest pot of money you have when you retire, specifically because your employer will match your contributions into your pension for your entire working life!

Hope this helps…and FOLLOW me for more content.

More tax is coming…👇

The Cash ISA in the UK is having its threshold CUT & an announcement is expected in July.

What is the current limit?

At the moment you can put up to £20,000 per tax year into your Cash ISA.

What’s it changing to?

We don’t know for sure yet but it could be around £5,000 per year.

What does this mean?

You will have to pay tax on any savings you earn interest on above this new threshold limit - whatever it ends up being.

The aim is to encourage high savers to start investing their extra cash instead of keeping it locked in savings accounts…but who knows what impact it will have.

How does the tax code work and how do you apply for a tax refund? 👇

So your tax code tells you exactly what your tax free personal allowance is in the current tax year - 1257L = £12,570 personal allowance ✅

If you have overpaid your taxes you may receive a p800 letter to confirm this. If not, you can also download the hmrcgovuk app to check!

50% interest on your savings…🤯

Here’s how to get it 👇

It’s called a “Help To Save” account and it will pay you 50p for every £1 you put into it (maximum of £50 per month).

Who’s eligible:
- those on universal credit
- those receiving a working tax credit (and earning some form of income)

If the above doesn’t apply to you, there is still a way you can benefit:

You only need to be eligible for the account and the time of opening, if you’re circumstances later change you can still access the account in full ✅

3 things that will get MORE EXPENSIVE after the US & Iran situation…

1. Fuel prices

20% of the worlds oil supply passes through the Persian Gulf so Iran could very easily start blocking this supply.

2. Shipped goods from Eastern Europe (clothing & electronics)

Cargo ships will be rerouting their travel zones to avoid the conflict area which will increase supply costs and ultimately raise prices of goods.

3. Flight costs

Airspace over Iran will be avoided so if you’re travelling to or past that area of the world you will definitely be impacted.

Let’s breakdown my £1,047/month paycheck 👇

My gross pay is of course ➡️ £1,047

Then we have my tax deductions:

Income tax ➡️ £0

National insurance ➡️ £0

How comes?

Because of my tax code ➡️ 1257L

I take advantage of the UK’s personal allowance which means I don’t have to pay tax on the first £12,570 I earn each tax year.

But I won’t lie to you and pretend I can live off of this income. I withdraw additional dividends from my LTD Company in order to sustain my living expenses.
