We couldn’t have imagined a better way to kick off Diwali season in NYC. The energy in the room was electric. It wasn’t about frills, it was about feeling.
The space was filled with community leaders, trailblazers, friends, and mentors each representing a piece of the journey that has brought holiCHIC to this moment.
Every detail of the evening reflected our brand ethos, modern Indian aesthetics with heart. From the decor to the atmosphere, we wanted it to feel raw, real, and like an extension of holiCHIC itself.

Diwali (the Festival of Lights) was once something we only celebrated quietly at home with family. There was little to no awareness outside of our community.
It looks so different today. Some states have made it an official school holiday (CA most recently), parents and teachers are collaborating to bring Diwali into classrooms so that the next generation grows up with awareness. Mainstream stores now carry full Diwali collections homegoods target even nordstrom pop-ups 😉 and you’ll see it featured in media outlets and in celebrations across major cities.
Representation like this doesn’t just happen, it’s because so many of us keep showing up, educating, and breaking barriers so the next generation grows up proud of who they are.
Whatever we are doing is working. For me, that’s the true light of Diwali ✨

![Watching Aarian win MVP of the copa_rincon tournament yesterday made me emotional. Not because of the award itself, but because of what it’s taken for him to get here.
Travel soccer isn’t easy. The competition is intense, the pressure is constant, and every kid out there is fighting just as hard as the next. There were times he considered quitting, the demanding practices, the pressure to perform and many nights he walked through the door at 9:30 pm completely drained still needing to finish his homework.
We’ve spent almost every weekend for the last 4 years on the sidelines rain or shine, driving hours to games and building our lives around the sport. It’s been a commitment for our whole family, but one that’s given him lessons far bigger than soccer.
He kept pushing through juggling school, late practices, and the mental challenge of playing at such a competitive and little by little, I’ve watched him grow stronger and more confident.
That’s what youth sports teach resilience, grit, teamwork, and the ability to rise to a challenge.
Congrats to the entire asjuniorelite team on winning the championship!
